Our History
The PhD Maintenance group had its beginnings in the early 1990’s when The Window
Doctor, one of its member companies, was formed in Brighton by Darian Bobby, then
an ambitious high school student. For many years, he oversaw a thriving residential
window washing business and eventually hired Brian Maynard as a crew leader in 2000.
After working for the Window Doctor for several seasons, Brian left the company
to form Hands for Hire, a general home labor service specializing in ‘grunt work’
and home and yard improvement projects. In 2005, The Window Doctor came up for sale
and Brian and his wife purchased his former employer. In the fall of 2008, The Window
Doctor and Hands for Hire were joined by a professional residential/commercial carpet
cleaning business, The Carpet Doctor. A new corporation (the PhD Maintenance Group,
Inc.) was formed to bring all of these complementary services under one roof.
Who We Are Today
The PhD Maintenance Group, Inc. is a collection of service companies that form a
one-stop-shop for your home and business maintenance needs. Once you discover a
company with clean-cut, uniformed crew that you can trust to show up on-time and
ready to work, there is no reason to start the process over again when you have
another project to complete. By offering several common services (i.e. window cleaning,
carpet cleaning, deck staining, etc.) through one phone call, we simplify and streamline
the process of home and business maintenance.
